Open Gym and Barbell Club is intended to provide athletes an independent skill/cardio/lifting time block. Open gym provides our athletes thew oppertunity to come in and work on their weaknesses or perfect their strengths. There are Open Box time throughout the week and every Friday.
Our Competitor's program is designed for experienced, high-level athletes looking to compete at local/regional competitions and work toward an ultimate goal of qualifying for the CrossFit East Regional. This class is 60 minutes to complete as it includes supplemental strength and skill work. Participants will need to be consistent and dedicated to their training. This program will push your limits, improve your weaknesses, and prepare you to compete with the best CrossFitters in the region.
ROMWOD stands for Range Of Motion Workout Of the Day. It is a website that provides daily videos designed to increase range of motion, optimize athletic performance, and promote recovery, healing, and longevity. ROMWOD is for everyone! This program was designed by CrossFitters to address the number one limiting factor of all athletes, their range of motion! But range of motion is not an issue that is present only in the gym. Range of motion limits everyone, and whether you are trying to get into better positioning in your overhead squat or you just want to sit on the floor to play with your children, ROMWOD is the answer that your body needs to open and free your joints.
What is CrossFit?
CrossFit begins with a belief in fitness. The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness. We have sought to build a program that will best prepare trainees for any physical contingency — not only for the unknown, but for the unknowable. After looking at all sport and physical tasks collectively, we asked what physical skills and adaptations would most universally lend themselves to performance advantage. Capacity culled from the intersection of all sports demands would quite logically lend itself well to all sport. In sum, our specialty is not specializing. -CrossFit
The purpose of this class is to introduce and promote strength through proper techniques of lifting and weight training. Physical assessments enable our athletes to personalize their own workouts and attain their fitness goals. Athletes will perform basic calculations to determine appropriate workload, volume, sets, repetitions, intensity, progression and recovery to meet their fitness goals. This class is excellent for athletes at any level.
